The 20 spiritual gifts are those listed within the Pauline epistles to Rome, Ephesus, and Corinth (Romans 12, Ephesians 4, 1 Corinthians 12–13), and recognized by the first-century church. While all of life is a gift from God, these twenty gifts are lifted up within Scripture as the gifts of the Spirit, given specifically for the upbuilding of the body of Christ.

Elijah the prophet spread God’s message that it was not going to rain. God led Elijah to a brook where he could find water to drink. God also sent ravens with bread and meat. When the brook dried up, God sent Elijah to a widow in a town called Zarephath. Elijah told her to use her limited resources to make him a small cake. God then kept filling her jars of flour and oil until the drought ended.

Week 5 - 10/11/2020 - The Golden Calf
The Israelites grow impatient with Moses’ leadership and with the wilderness and decide to create an idol to worship that looks a lot like the pagan idols so commonplace at the time. The Israelites make sacrifices before their new idol, a golden calf, and bow down before it in worship, claiming that this “god” was the one to bring them out of Egypt.
Week 4 - 10/4/2020 - The Promises of Passover
After years of living as slaves, God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. God gave Moses instructions for the people to follow. This included eating a special meal and painting lamb’s blood around the doorway. At night, the firstborn of the Egyptian families died, but death passed over the homes of the Israelites.
