Our Story

Our story in Marlton began in 1823, when worshippers gathered under the direction of the Methodist Circuit Riders.  The first building was built in 1838 and since then, the people of Marlton United Methodist Church have met under a variety of roof tops.  Beginning in 2016, we were relocated from our present sanctuary into our family life center while our worship space is under repair.  It is a reminder that the church at Marlton UMC is not the building where it meets, but a community of imperfect people committed to the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Through worship, fellowship, service, and discipleship we are committed to making disciples for the transformation of the world.

Read about our reentry to the sanctuary and all of the good things God is doing in our community here! Original article written for NEWSpirit. NEWSpirit is a quarterly newspaper that provides news and information on churches, ministries, events and resources for leadership throughout the Eastern PA and Greater New Jersey conferences.

We'd love for you to be a part of our story as well.  Join us for worship or contact us to find out additional information about our mission and ministries.
