Lighting the Advent Candle Ladder

When you enter our worship space during Advent, you will see ladder rather than an Advent wreath. The ladder is to signify our growing closer and closer to God as we await the celebration of Christ’s birth. We grow in hope, love, joy, and peace as we wait expectantly for the Christ-child!

Each week of Advent we will include in our liturgy the following,

"I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days"

The words are from the song, "Step by Step," by Rich Mullins and it is intended to give us a fresh point of view of the ways to prepare our hearts and minds for the anticipated coming of the birth of our Savior.

You will note that the ladder still includes the traditional colors of the Advent candles, 3 purple, 1 pink, and 1 white.  Included below is a walk through the lighting of the Advent wreath by Chuck from Chuck Knows Church.
